June NOVLbox: Pride
Happy June and happy Pride Month!
While the usual celebrations for Pride may be put on hold or changed due to COVID-19, we’re glad we can still commemorate this month with books that show and celebrate love in all its forms! I’m so happy to see the influx of LGBTQ literature in YA. While we can always do better to diversify, it’s so heartening to me to see excellent representation in YA increasing – particularly the love stories with happy endings! We all need to see ourselves in a happy ending. With that in mind, we’re bringing you some of our favorite books with LGBTQ rep, some happy, some sad, all excellent reads!
And just as a note, the world is pretty weird right now and our NOVLboxes have had to adjust. Unfortunately, due to the situation surrounding COVID-19, we can’t hand-package our NOVLboxes or include all the swag we would like. So instead, we’re giving you an extra book to enjoy!
Now I know what you’re all asking: WHAT’S IN THE BOX?!
Camp by L. C. Rosen
Fence: Striking Distance by Sarah Rees Brennan and illustrated by Johanna the Mad
Amelia Westlake Was Never Here by Erin Gough
I Am J by Cris Beam
The Winter Duke by Claire Eliza Bartlett
Plus you’ll get an extra goodie in the form of a special Camp sticker – sent to you once we’re back in the office!
